Harvest Apple Pie
 

Crust

Unbaked 9 -inch Classic Crisco Double Crust

Filling

  1. 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  2. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  4. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  5. 1 tablespoon Cutter Flavor Crisco
  6. 6 cups peeled, sliced tart baking aples (about 2 pounds or 6 medium apples)
  7. 3 tablespoons apple cider or juice

Glaze

  1. Milk
  2. Granulated Sugar

Directions:

Heat oven to 375 degrees. for filling combine, brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour and cinnamon.  Cut in Butter Flabor Crisco with fork unti crumbs form.  Toss apples with crumb mixture.  spoon into unbaked pie shell.  sprinkle with apple cider.  Moisten pasry edge with water.  Roll top crust same as bottom.  Liftonto filled pie.  Trim 1/2 inch beyond edge of pie plate.   Fold top edge under bottom crust.  Flute.  Cut slits in top crust for escape of steam. 

For glaze, brush with milk.   sprinkle with granulated sugar.  Bake a 375 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until filling center is bubbly and crust ins golden brown.  Cover edge of pie with foil last 10 minutes, if necessary, to prevent overbrowning. Col until barely warm or to room temperature before serving.
