| Gingerbread Waffles - Soul Food Breakfast Recipe
Directions: Preheat the waffle iron. Sift together all the dry ingredients. Beat the egg and milk together and slowly pour the mixture into the dry ingredients. Add the crystalized ginger, gingerroot, and melted butter. Whip the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the batter. Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour the batter into the center of the iron and cook according to manufacturer's instructions. Makes 6 waffles Per Serving: 220 calories / 4 gm fat / 39 gm carbohydrates / 240 mg sodium
