Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 thin slice of onion
  • 1 sprig of parsley
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • salt to taste
  • whte pepper
  • sash of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespons heavy cream

 

Directons:

Combine the milk with the onion andparsley and bring it to the boil.  Meanwhile melt the butter and using a wire whisk, stir in the flour.  When the mixture is thickened and smoothe simmer it gently for five minutes, stirring occasionally with the whisk. If the sauce seems to thick add a little moremilk.  Add the seasoning and cream.

Makes about 1 1./4 cups
