Ingredients:
1 package active dry yeast ½ tsp. salt ¾ cups of warm water1 egg 2 tsp sugar 2 ½ to 2 ¾ cups of all purpose flour 2 tsp. vegetable oil or soft butter or margarine Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water in 2 ½ quart bowl. Add sugar, oil, salt and egg. Stir to dissolve sugar and salt. Stir in 1 cup flour until smooth. Cover with cloth and lace on rack over hot water; let rise 15 minutes. Grease 9 x 9 inch pan. Stir down batter and add 1 ½ cups of flour. Stir until mixed; turn onto floured surface. Knead 3 minutes. If sticky, knead in ¼ cup flour. Shape quickly into balls. Arrange in pan. Brush top with butter. Cover: let rise 25 minutes. Bake 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Brush top with soft butter.
