Peanut Butter Sheet Cake 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1@ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Frosting

Directions:

Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan;cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

Combine flour, soda, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.  Add, eggs, milkl, and vanilla; beat at low speed of an electric mixer until blended.  Add peanut butter mixture; mix well.  Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until a wooden pick is inserted in the center and comes out clean.  Cool completely in a pan on a wire rack.  Spread frosting on top of cake.  Yields 15 servings

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut buter
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth.  Remove from the heat.  Add powdered sugar and vanilla, stirring until mixture is spreading consistency.  Yield 2 1/2 cups.
