French Cinnamon Muffins

 

 

Prep Time: 20 minutes (Ready in 40 minutes)

2     cups  Self-Rising Flour 
1/2     cup sugar 
1/4     teaspoon cinnamon 
2/3     cup milk 
1/3     cup butter or margarine, melted, cooled 
1     egg 
1/4     cup sugar 
1     teaspoon cinnamon 
1/4     cup butter or margarine, melted 
     

1 .    Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease 12 muffin cups. In large bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon; mix well.
2 .    n small bowl, combine milk, 1/3 cup melted butter and egg; blend well. Add to flour mixture; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. (Batter will be slightly lumpy.) Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. 
3 .    Bake at 425 degrees F. for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.
4 .    Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; mix well. 
5 .    Remove muffins from muffin cups. Dip tops of warm muffins in 1/4 cup melted butter; dip in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Serve warm.
