Microwave Carmel Corn Recipes

Microwave Carmel Corn #1

  • 16 c. popped corn
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

Mix butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and salt. Microwave 2 1/2 minutes on high, until boiling. Continue boiling for 3 minutes on high. Add baking soda and stir. Divide popcorn into 2 bowls. Pour 1/2 caramel mixture over each bowl; microwave each bowl for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on high, stirring after each minute. Be careful not to overcook either caramel sauce or carameled corn.


Microwave Carmel Corn #2

  • 4 qts. popped corn
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Directions

Combine brown sugar, margarine, syrup and salt in a 2 quart dish. Place in microwave. Bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove. Add soda, mix well. Put popcorn in a heavy brown paper grocery bag. Pour syrup over popcorn, seal bag. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes, remove. Shake well. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes, remove. Shake. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes, remove, shake. Pour into shallow pan. Break apart. Store in a sealed container.


MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN #3

6 qts. of popped corn in brown paperbag (use hot air popper)

2 c. brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

2 sticks margarine

1/2 c. corn syrup

Boil this 5 minutes and remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Stir. Pour mixture over and stir in bag. Bake 3 minutes on full power, stirring frequently. Pour out on wax paper or heavy aluminum foil and crumble. Store in air-tight container.


Microwave Carmel Corn #4

1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 to 4 qts. popped corn

Directions:

Combine first 4 ingredients. Cook in microwave until mixture boils and then cook for another 2 minutes. Add soda to cooked mixture. Pour mixture over popcorn in brown grocery bag.
