Ham Tips:  For best taste, purchase quantities to use in seven to ten days, as ham does not freeze well.  Ham can be boneless or bone-in, whole or portion; most ham is already cooked.  It should be heated to an internal temperature of 140 degrees F before eating.

Ingredients:

  • 1-4 pound boneless, fully cooked smoked ham
  • 1/3 cup of light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup good quality bourbon
  • zest from one orange, grated
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Place ahm on rack in roasting pan.  Do not add water.  Cook, uncovered, 20 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F.

Mix, sugar, bourbon, zest, cloves and allspice and simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes.  Twenty minutes before the ham is done, brush glaze over it.

Serves 8
