Beef Brisket In Beer

Ingredients:

  • 3 to 4 lb. beef brisket

  • 1 onion sliced

  • ¼ c. chili sauce

  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 (12 oz0 can ( 1 ½ c.) beer

  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

 

 

 

Directions

Trim excess fat from brisket.  Season with salt and pepper.  Place meat in baking dish; cover with onion slices.  In bowl, combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic and beer; pour over meat.  Cover with foil.  Bake 350 degrees for 3 ½ hours.  Uncover and bake 30 minutes more, basting occasionally with juice.  Skim excess fat from drippings in saucepan.  Remove meat to platter.  Measure liquid and add water to make 1 cup.  Blend flour and ½ cup water; combine with drippings in saucepan.  Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.  To serve cut across the grain.
