Directions Trim excess fat from brisket. Season with salt and pepper. Place meat in baking dish; cover with onion slices. In bowl, combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic and beer; pour over meat. Cover with foil. Bake 350 degrees for 3 ½ hours. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more, basting occasionally with juice. Skim excess fat from drippings in saucepan. Remove meat to platter. Measure liquid and add water to make 1 cup. Blend flour and ½ cup water; combine with drippings in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. To serve cut across the grain.
