Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • softened butter
  • 2 slices of Texas Toast or thick bread
  • a skuce if Cheddar or Swiss Cheese


Directions

Butter one side of each piece of bread. Put the cheese on the unbutered side of 1 piece of the bread, then cover with the second piece so the buttered side faces up. Heat the skillet to medium for a few minutes. Put the sandwich into the skillet.

Cook for 2 ro 3 minutes until the underside is golden brown, then carefully turn the sandwich over with a spatula. Cook the second side in the same way for 2 to 3 minutes.

Carefully lift the sandwich out of the pan and onto a plate. Cut in half, then eat.

Other ideas:

You can add a slice of h am to the cheese filling for a grilled ham and cheese, or you can add 2 or 3 slices of tomato or a large mushroom.
