"Tag" Valentine Cards

Make your own valentines that are easy and unique. This wonderful embossed card will be cherished by all.
Materials

White card and envelope
Cardstock - three shades of tan, and red
Tan rice paper
Heart rubber stamp
Cranberry inkpad and clear embossing powder
Brown inkpad
Embossing Heat tool
Fiskars deckle edge scissors
Glue stick
Paper punch
Hemp cord or other string

Directions

Cut a red rectangle smaller than the greeting card, using deckle edge scissors. Glue onto middle shade of tan cardstock and trim to create border. Glue this onto greeting card.

Cut a "shipping tag" out of darkest tan cardstock. Stamp three hearts onto the same darkest tan cardstock with Cranberry ink. Emboss with clear powder and set with embossing tool.

Cut around each heart to create three small squares. Glue each onto tan rice paper, then tear, leaving a small border. Glue one onto a square of red cardstock and set aside to decorate envelope.

Cut small rectangle from lightest shade of tan cardstock with deckle edge scissors. Write message.

To "antique" tag and message rectangle, simply drag edges along brown inkpad to "age". Cut a red circle and glue to end of "shipping tag". Punch hole through and thread with three lengths of hemp.

Glue two of the heart squares onto shipping tag, then glue onto card. Cut a rectangle slightly larger than the lightest tan message rectangle. Age it using brown inkpad. Glue the two rectangles together and attach near bottom of card.

Decorate coordinating envelope.
