Hot Buttered Rum

A delicious Drink for a cold winter's night.
 
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2/3 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon butter
 
Directions
 
Pour rum into a mug and drop the sugar cube in.  Pour boiling warer on top.  Add butter and stir untol butter melts.  Makes 1 drink.

Old-Fashioned Hot Buttered Rum #2
 
Perfect for that cold winter night in front of the fire.
 
Ingredients
 
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
  • Rum or rum extract
  • Boiling water
  • Ground nutmeg
 
Directions
 
Combine sugar, brown sugar and butter in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted (6 to 8 minutes). Combine cooked mixture with ice cream in large mixer bowl; beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth (1 to 2 minutes). Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks or frozen up to 1 month.
