Fudgie Brownies
 
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 10 tablespoons Baking Cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions

In a saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter, oil, 5 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar and flour. Beat in eggs, sour milk, vanilla, and baking soda.


Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 400*F. for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool. Frost. Cut into bars. For Frosting: In a small saucepan bring 1/2 cup butter, 5 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar. Beat till thoroughly combined. Stir in chopped nuts.
Makes 36 bars.
