amount and type of food and drinks that you consume can directly affect
your blood sugar levels.
Whenever you eat you are putting sugar in your blood. Eating the right foods can help you control your blood sugar level. 1. You should try to eat about the same time every day. This will help keep you medication and sugar levels steady. 2.If you are overweight loosing weight can lower both your sugar and cholesterol levels. 3.Try to eat three times a day. Your physician will instruct you on snacking between meals. 4.Increase your intake of fiber foods such as green leafy vegetables, grains and fruits. 5.Cut down on foods that is high in sugars and fats. Every diabetic is different is some ways. You must learn what food affects your blood sugar. Make note of what you eat on a daily basis for a while. By doing this you can determine which food you are eating affects your blood sugar levels. If you are a drinker you should limit your alcohol intake to no more than one serving meals. Never drink on an empty stomach. Drinking on an empty stomach may cause your sugar level to drop.
