Chocolate Pound Cake

 

Ingredients:
 
2 sticks butter or margarine
1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1 t. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 c. milk

Directions:

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add baking powder, cocoa and vanilla. Add flour and milk, beat well. Pour into 2 greased and floured bread pans. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Slice and serve plain or can be drizzled with icing.

 

Chocolate Pound Cake #2

Ingredients:

1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 t. vanilla

Directions:

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture alternating with milk. Add vanilla and mix well. Bake in a greased and floured, 10 inch tube pan, at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Spread with chocolate frosting.
